Responding to reports of NYPD profiling of Black youth, Black attorneys and the NYCLU will join civil right groups in monitoring police interactions with black youth during rush hour

Press Briefing: Responding to reports that the NYPD is profiling young Black males, a group of Black attorneys will join the New York Civil Liberties Union and other Civil Rights organizations to monitor how the police are interacting with Black youth.  100 Blacks in Law Enforcement spokesperson Marq Claxton states, "we will have the attorneys mix in with the passengers to detect if the police are targeting young black males.  It is our goal to see first hand if young Black males are being treated differently from other passengers."  In addition to the on site observations, the groups will distribute information/referral flyers.
