Black law enforcement organization releases information regarding the failure of the NYPD brass to ensure Firearms and Tactics qualifications of the officers involved in the Club Kalua shooting was current and adequate
For Immediate Release
Press Briefing: 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care are demanding NYPD accountability for their failure to insure that members of the Vice Division’s Club Initiative were fully and properly trained. Information obtained indicates that officers who discharged their firearms outside of Club Kalua had either failed to attend the mandated firearms training cycle or had failed to attend the mandated specialized OCCB training prior to their assignments with the Club Initiative. 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care co-founder Noel Leader states, “This is yet another disturbing example of willful negligence. Chief Anthony Izzo must be held accountable for this gross dereliction of duty that adds to the growing list of oversight failures.”
