    For Immediate Release

Press Briefing:  100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care is calling for the immediate appointment of a special prosecutor to conduct an unfettered investigation into all of the facts and circumstances surrounding the Club Kalua shooting.  Given the numerous, very serious allegations of local precinct interference and intimidation, it is becoming more obvious that the Queens District Attorney’s Office does not have complete control of the investigation and is unwilling or unable to prevent the NYPD from conducting a simultaneous shadow investigation.  Absent the appointment of a Special Prosecutor, the very integrity of the investigation is in jeopardy.
