Press Release

Law Enforcement organization denounces Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly’s decision to utilize the RAND corporation to conduct a study of NYPD Stop/Question/Frisk practices and instead calls for an immediate investigation into civil and human rights violations by authorized governmental bodies

                                                                                          For Immediate Release

Press Briefing:  100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care demands that those governmental entities with the legal responsibility and authority to protect human and civil rights conduct an immediate investigation into the unlawful stop/question/frisk practices of the NYPD.  These very serious violations must be investigated by governmental bodies rather than a RAND Corporation study that is funded by the New York City Police Foundation.   100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care co-founder Noel Leader stated “Police Commissioner Kelly is engaging in a shrewd and dangerous public relations stunt to avoid accountability and/or liability.  If the NYPD is finally willing to come in compliance with the Police Reporting Law, they should first supply ALL the required data to an entity that has the authority to implement legally binding reform as opposed to a ‘for profit’ think tank. We fully reject the privatizing of governmental responsibility”
