Law enforcement organization calls for an immediate investigation into the beating and stun gun assault by Police Officers on the son of a retired NYPD Lieutenant
For Immediate Release
Press Briefing: 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care is demanding an immediate investigation into the beating and stun gun assault of the teenage son of a retired NYPD Lieutenant by Police Officers assigned to the 28 precinct in Harlem. On August 18, 2007, Alexander Lombard III, the son of retired NYPD Lieutenant Alexander Lombard was beaten, placed in an illegal choke hold and stun gunned several times by Police Officers who subsequently issued him a summons for ‘Disorderly Conduct’. 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care co-founder Marq Claxton states, “Given the documented nature of the injuries and the subsequent criminal court summons issued, it is glaringly obvious that the level of force used was excessive. We demand an immediate Internal Affairs Bureau investigation and a referral to the District Attorney’s office for a prosecution of the offending Police Officers.” The use of non-lethal restraining devices is strictly governed by the NYPD Patrol Guide and mandates supervisory conferrals and documentation. Given the level and types of force used, the NYPD must determine if there was any violation of department policy and procedures.
